Add a trick to your Android phone’s toolkit: boot your computers from afar by pushing the command from your phone to your home network.
At MakeUseOf they’ve shared a small tutorial on how to configure the free Android application PC Auto Waker. Essentially it’s just a lightweight wake-on-LAN (WOL) client that sends a packet to your computer.
If you’re familiar with WOL you can likely just grab the application and plug in the necessary information. If you’ve never messed around with WOL, we’d suggest reading over their tutorial to get a clearer idea of how the application functions and what you need to configure on your computer.
