Hacked App Puts Netflix on Unsupported Android Devices

We showed you a work around for the limited-release Netflix Android application last week. For those of you that don’t want to monkey inside the guts of your device, this hacked up does the dirty work for you–no modding necessary.

The previous hack relied on you editing files on your phone to trick it into believing it was a different device (and thus letting the Netflix app run). This new hack is actually a modified version of the Netflix application that–thanks to the guys at XDA Developers–has the device check ripped out of it.

You’ll need to make sure you’ve allowed the installation of non-market apps (under Settings -> Applications -> Unknown Sources) to install it but from there it should be smooth sailing (in the forum there are reports of the app still failing to work, but the majority of people are reporting positive results).
