DIY Photo Booth Features Custom Single-Purpose Button
What do you do if you need users to be able to press a keyboard button but you don’t want then roughing up the keyboard or accessing any other buttons? Build a custom and durable single-use button.
Over at Rasterweb they wanted to build a simple photo booth setup for an office party. They used a Mac with a web cam and the Adobe Air-based Sparkbooth to power the setup but one thing was missing–a simple trigger. By default the software responds to a tap of the space bar but putting out a keyboard seemed like a recipe for people hitting the wrong keys, knocking the keyboard off the stand, and other undesired outcomes. To remedy the situation they built a sturdy and fool proof button that did one thing and one thing well: send the space bar command to the attached computer.
