Something like cnet, with ratings and etc?

Whenever I want a linux program, I end up having to sift through dozens of websites, making and uninstalling dozens of programs, before I find a decent user friendly interface.

Linux is easy

There Are 3 Responses So Far. »

  1. Skimming the well of knowledge:

    ocean.tamu.edu/~baum/linuxlist.html

  2. SourceForge is well worth a look for open source software

    LUg.

  3. The best way to download linux software is through your distributions built-in package manager. Without knowing your distro, I can’t tell you the name, it could be Yum, Synaptic, Yast, or something eles.
It also it looks like you need assistance with finding the right application to use. I would recommend Linux app finder, which sorts popular linux apps by catagory and rates them too. The alternatives link will help you find Linux alternatives for popular Windows apps.
